Did Jeremy Piven win an award for Entourage?

Jeremy Piven is a household name thanks to his role as fast-talking Hollywood agent Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage. The show ran for eight seasons and earned Piven multiple Emmy awards. He also starred in the British period drama Mr Selfridge, as the founder of London’s Selfridge department store.

Despite being accused of sexual Jeremy Piven misconduct by several women in 2017 and 2018, Piven is working again. His latest project is the film Sweetwater, which tells the story of former NBA player Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton. Piven stars as New York Knicks head coach Joe Lapchick in the film.

As Piven returns to work, some of the women who allege that he assaulted them aren’t happy with his decision to move on from his past controversies. One woman, background actor Susan McCain Olson, said Piven followed her into a trailer and tried to force himself on her in 1985. She claims he later assaulted her again in 1996 and again in 1997. Diane Gonzalez, another background actor who came forward with allegations against Piven, says she has PTSD from his behavior and that when she watches him on TV it makes her physically sick.

Meador and Gonzalez both agree that if Piven wants to redeem himself in the entertainment world he needs to take accountability for his past actions. Gonzalez says she’s disappointed that he didn’t apologize after the first allegation and hasn’t acknowledged any of the other accusations. Meador agrees with Gonzalez that accountability should be extended to the studios, production companies, and management who give actors like Piven opportunities.

Piven co-starred on the short-lived ABC dramedy Cupid and voiced Elongated Man in three episodes of Justice League Unlimited. He also acted on Seinfeld as the show’s head writer Jerry, as well as appeared in the NBC comedy series Mad About You and the short-lived CBS crime procedural series Wisdom of the Crowd.

Outside of acting, Piven continues to tour the country as a stand-up comedian. He recently worked with Kast Media on a brand-new podcast called How U Livin’ J Piven, where he interviews celebrities, athletes, and influencers in an intimate and in-depth format. The podcast is available on all platforms. You can catch Piven on the road with his live comedy show through early 2022.
